Temporary Buildings

August 13, 2009

Occurrences of nature like hurricanes, floods, earthquakes and tsunamis leave behind vast destruction and countless survivors who have lost their homes and all of their possessions. Temporary buildings can provide shelter for those most in need and do so with a higher degree of comfort and safety than ever before. In many cases these easily portable structures can be delivered to the site of the devastated homes, giving the victims the opportunity to reconnect with neighbours who have also suffered a similar fate.

With temporary buildings, they can start living in familiar surroundings and hopefully begin to recover at least some of their possessions that may be strewn about under rubble. They can be connected to the same utilities that they were using before, like water, gas and electricity so even though they are living in temporary buildings, some continuity is restored to their lives which after a catastrophe is an important psychological consideration. These homes are well lit and well insulated so even in times of extreme weather, they remain comfortable and safe inside. Because of their economical costs, government agencies understand that temporary buildings are the answer to serious situations when safe, energy efficient emergency homes are required.
The standards to which they are built are competitive with any type of modular homes featuring high rated insulation, licensed electrical wiring and in line with the building codes of almost any municipality. temporary buildings are without a doubt the best emergency contingency to a housing shortage due to natural disasters.

I followed the link to temporary buildings to find a uk based firm that are offering truely flexable solutions to additional requirements. Smart Space seem to have got it right – people who want temporary buildings want temporary solutions. The offer fast installation, totally flexable contracts and even purchase options if you need is for a longer solution.
